WORLD IN SERBIA PROJECT FOR THE ACADEMIC YEAR 2020/2021
The Republic of Serbia through their Ministry of Education, Science and Technological Development is offering two (2) scholarship opportunities as part of the ‘‘World in Serbia’’ Programme to Saint Lucian nationals desirous of pursuing studies at University of Belgrade, Serbia, for the 2020/2021 academic year.
VALUE OF THE SCHOLARSHIP
The scholarship awarded under the Project includes:
- free Serbian language preparatory courses (Serbian language on-line course and Serbian language intensive course upon arrival in the Republic of Serbia).
- free tuition at basic academic or vocational studies, specialist vocational studies,
master academic or vocational studies, specialist academic or doctoral studies;
- scholarship monetary award amounting 15,000.00 dinars a month;
- free accommodation and food in student centres;
- compulsory health insurance;
- free resident visa;
- free high school diplomas recognition; and
- free higher education diplomas recognition.
The scholarship does not include:
- travel expenses to and from the Republic of Serbia;
- costs of city public transport in the Republic of Serbia;
- expenses for textbooks and work materials during studies
TERMS AND CONDITIONS FOR OBTAINING A SCHOLARSHIP
To be eligible to apply for this scholarship, applicant must meet the following conditions:
- be a Saint Lucian national;
- be fluent in the English language; and
- be of age:
- 21 years or younger for undergraduate level studies;
- 25 years or younger for graduate level studies; and
- 35 years or younger for doctoral academic studies.
- have the requisite academic qualification for consideration for your intended level of study:
- for enrolment at basic academic/vocational studies, the applicant must have already completed College studies;
- for enrolment at master academic studies, the applicant must have already attained a bachelor’s degree in an area of study leading/similar to intended area of study;
- for enrolment at doctoral academic studies, the applicant must have already attained a master’s degree in an area of study leading/similar to intended area of study.
SCHOLARSHIP APPLICATION PROCESS
Interested applicants to this scholarship are required to submit the following documents along with the “World in Serbia” Scholarship Application Form:
- application for two study programs (specify the preferred faculty and another alternative faculty) he/she wants to pursue, in accordance with his/her previous qualifications and terms and conditions for enrolment in the desired study program in the Republic of Serbia;
- curriculum vitae with a motivation letter in English;
- photocopy of the biographical page on your passport;
- proof of acquired education (certified photocopies of academic certificates, transcripts with grades, or diploma supplements);
- proof of English (certificate, transcript, confirmation, etc.);
- a medical certificate not older than six months confirming that the candidate does not suffer from any infectious disease; and
- certificate that he/she is HIV negative.
