Scholarship Opportunity for Saint Lucian Students at Al Akhawayn University in Morocco
The Embassy of the Kingdom of Morocco in Saint Lucia informs of a scholarship opportunity for Saint Lucian students. This scholarship is offered by the Moroccan Agency for International Cooperation (AMCI), in partnership with Al Akhawayn University in Ifrane (AUI) for one (1) full Scholarship of Excellence in both Bachelor’s and Master’s programmes in the English language, based on the US Higher Education System. The programmes offered are aimed at training future senior officials mainly in the fields Diplomacy and International Studies.
GENERAL INFORMATION
The applicant must be an excellent high school or bachelor’s student applying for one of the following courses of study:
- Undergraduate Studies (Bachelor degree):
- Bachelor of Arts in International Studies
- Bachelor of Science in Renewable Energy and Systems Engineering
- Bachelor of Science in Artificial Intelligence and Robotization
- Postgraduate Studies (Master degree):
- Master of Arts in International Studies & Diplomacy
- Master of Business Administration
- Master of Science in Sustainable Energy Management
VALUE OF SCHOLARSHIP
The Scholarship of Excellence is a joint initiative between AMCI and AUI, which provides the following services to the beneficiary students:
• Covered by AMCI:
- 1 return flight ticket (for the beginning and the end of the programme);
- Pick-up at the airport and transfer to AUI;
- Accommodation and meals at the university restaurant situated on campus at AUI;
- University library free access;
- Medical insurance and repatriation if needed; A monthly grant;
• Covered by AUI:
- Registration and tuition fees.
GENERAL ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS
Undergraduate studies
- be 20 years old maximum by September 1st, 2024;
- hold a CAPE or an Associate Degree obtained in 2023 with grade A or is preparing the same in 2024 and maintained an excellent academic record of 95/100 during the last two semesters;
Graduate studies
- be 24 years old max by September 1st, 2024;
- interested in applying for a Master’s degree and hold a Bachelor degree (or equivalent) with grade A or is preparing the same in 2024 and maintained an excellent academic record of 95/100.
APPLICATION PROCESS
The application request must include the following documents:
• For undergraduate studies applicants (Bachelor degree):
- Cover letter mentioning the requested studies
- Certified copy of the CSEC
- Certified copy of CAPE or Associate Degree diploma
- Transcripts of the 1st and 2nd year CAPE or Associate Degree
- Birth certificate
- Copy of the passport, or valid ID
- Recent police record
- Medical certificate issued by the public health department testifying that the applicant’s physical and mental fitness and certifying that he or she is vaccinated and is not suffering from any contagious or acute disease, or is a carrier of a pandemic notably tuberculosis. Applicants may be required to undergo a counter-check upon arrival in Morocco.
- 2 recent passport photographs in colour (with the full name and nationality of the candidate written on the back).
• For postgraduate studies applicants (Master degree):
- The same documents as for undergraduate studies applicants listed above
- Certified copy of the Bachelor degree, or equivalent
- Transcripts of the Bachelor degree studies
IMPORTANT NOTE
• This programme of Scholarship of Excellence requires an unwavering commitment from the recipient student, as well as strict adherence to AUl’s internal regulations. The beneficiary of this programme is called upon to make a greater effort to complete his or her academic studies within the normal timeframe and with the expected merit.
• In accordance with AUl’s study regulations, renewal of the Scholarship of Excellence is conditional on good academic results at the end of each semester, and on a demonstration of merit and academic achievement. Failing this, the student will be excluded from the Scholarship of Excellence programme and will have to return to his or her country of origin.
