Residents of the south of the island are expected to gather to celebrate the completion of yet another project by the Government of Saint Lucia.
After months of anticipation, the Vieux-Fort Square will be officially opened on Sunday, March 30, 2014.
Parliamentary Representative for Vieux-Fort South, Prime Minister Hon. Dr. Kenny D. Anthony says he is heartened by the level of excitement that this project has drawn in the south.
“Just like every Vieux-Fortian and the citizens of the South of the island, I am excited about the completion and official opening of the Vieux-Fort Square.
At long last, the people of Vieux-Fort will have a square for recreation and community activities. Naturally, the square will be an attraction to our children and so, I encourage families to make use of it. It is my hope that in the near future, free Wifi will be made available in the square, for public use.
I invite all to be part of the official and historic ceremony on Sunday. I look forward to celebrating yet another achievement of this Government with the people of Saint Lucia.”
The official ceremony begins at 5:00 pm on Sunday, March 30th, 2014 and will be followed by a live concert by the Royal Saint Lucia Police Band and other local artistes.
