THE APPROVED 2025/2026 ESTIMATES OF REVENUE AND EXPENDITURE REPORT WILL BE FORMALLY PRESENTED TO THE HOUSE OF ASSEMBLY AT 5 P.M. ON MARCH 25.
The Standing Finance Committee of the House, comprising members of the House of Assembly, made significant progress in the nation's fiscal planning policy earlier today.
Under the guidance of the Chairman and Speaker of the House of Assembly, Hon. Claudius J. Francis, the Committee convened to review and approve the 2025/2026 Estimates of Revenue and Expenditure. This crucial step aligns with the rules of procedure outlined in the Constitution of Saint Lucia and the Standing Orders of the House.
During the Standing Finance Committee of the House sitting, members are allowed to question the Minister for Finance on the figures presented.
The approved 2025/2026 Estimates of Revenue and Expenditure Report will be formally presented before the House of Assembly this afternoon, at 5:00 p.m., by the Prime Minister and Minister for Finance, Honourable Philip J. Pierre.
This will be followed by a debate on the report by the Standing Finance Committee. The debate will take place on Thursday, March 27, 2025, and Friday, March 28, at 10:00 a.m. The Leader of the Opposition is expected to commence the response to the 2025/2026 Estimates of Revenue and Expenditure Report.
The Appropriations Bill, which serves as the government's policy statement, will be presented by the Finance Minister on Tuesday, April 22, 2025. A debate will follow on Thursday, April 24, and Friday, April 25, 2025.
