MINISTER SAYS RESORT OPERATIONS WILL INDIRECTLY BENEFIT THE COMMUNITY.

The peaceful community of Delcer, in the constituency of Choiseul, will soon be home to Saint Lucia's newest fine dining restaurant. Soley Kouche, the new restaurant, will be located near the Tet Rouge Resort in Delcer, Choiseul, and will provide local cuisine with an Italian flair, catering to locals and visitors alike.

Paul Hugo, Director of Tet Rouge and Soley Kouche, said local produce and seafood will be sourced from the Choiseul Fisheries. Hugo also praised the labourers who are residents of Choiseul, for their work ethic.

“Tet Rouge is small. We have six studios and a restauarant and bar that serves our guests only. So when our guests want to try another restaurant, we now will have another restauarant where all can come to have a nice meal.”

The Minister for Commerce, Industry, Investment, Enterprise Development and Consumer Affairs, and Parliamentary Representative for Choiseul, Honourable Bradley Felix, commended the Director of Soley Kouche on the location chosen for the project.

“We are now an emerging location for regional and international headquarters, and we have quite a few interests of people who want to set up headquarters in Saint luica. Currently we have over $1.5 billion to be invested in st lucia over the next two years. With all of this investment coming into Saint lucia, we need these facilities.”

Minister Felix also stressed on the benefits of the hotel for the community.

“We must recognize that the impact is not just on the people who are going to be working on the construction of the facility. There are also indirect benefits to the people in the community—our farmers and our craftsmen.”

The sod turning ceremony for the Soley Kouche Restaurant took place in Delcer, Choiseul on Jan. 31.
