Social assistance recipients assessed

Public Assistance and Child Disability Grant recipients will be reviewed between Sep. 7 and Oct. 9.

The Ministry of Social Transformation, Local Government and Community Empowerment will conduct a general review of all Public Assistance and Child Disability Grant cardholders from Sep. 7 to Oct. 9, from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m., daily.

The review will be conducted at all of the ministry’s regional offices islandwide. The schedule is as follows: Vieux Fort Regional Office (Mondays and Thursdays), Dennery Constituency Council Office (Tuesdays and Thursdays), Micoud Regional Office (Wednesdays), Soufriere Constituency Council (Wednesdays), Choiseul Regional Office (Tuesdays), Anse la Raye Regional Office (Mondays), Canaries Constituency Office (Thursdays), Gros Islet Regional Office (Tuesdays and Thursdays), Babonneau Regional Office (Fridays).

Please note that before monies are paid, the following must be submitted to the respective welfare officers for your area: an updated doctor’s book or letter (as recent as one month), the doctors book must be stamped using the hospital or health centre stamp for bedridden, sick, mentally and physically challenged, amputees and elderly clients;  birth certificate for each child on public assistance; national identification cards for everyone aged 18 and older.

All children at tertiary level institutions (Sir Arthur Lewis Community College) must submit proof of enrollment or the acceptance letter from the institution (for Form 5 students).

Students attending primary and secondary schools and Special Education Centres should submit letters from the institution stating they are still enrolled at school or a copy of last term’s assessment report.

Please note that during the review period all clients are required to sign a Cash Transfer Grant Agreement. Please come prepared with the name and information of the person who will act on behalf of the client.
