The ease of accessibility is intended to enhance the growth of small businesses in Saint Lucia.

Entrepreneurs now have a virtual one stop shop to help start and grow their businesses.

The newly rebranded Saint Lucia Business Development Centre (SBDC), formally the Small Enterprise Development Unit (SEDU), launched its website as part of the activities for Business Month.

Director of the SBDC Barbra Innocent-Charles said the SBDC network removed the duplication of services, making it more efficient for business owners.

"The SBDC essentially features long term, confidential consulting, training as well as other support services for our medium, small and micro-enterprises (MSME) sector, so that our aspiring and existing entrepreneurs realize their full potential," she said.

Minister for Commerce, Business Development, Investment and Consumer Affairs, Hon. Emma Hippolyte, said the website is a milestone in the ministry’s long term goal of developing Saint Lucia’s private sector.

"The effects of the present technological era necessitates that proper mechanisms be put in place to facilitate and enhance the growth of small businesses in Saint Lucia," Minister Hippolyte said.

The website launch was held on Tuesday, at the University of the West Indies (UWI) Open Campus on Morne Fortune. The Open Campus is part of the SBDC network.
