ON SATURDAY 8 APRIL, 2023 ABOUT 4:30 A.M. OFFICERS OF THE CRIMINAL INVESTIGATIONS DEPARTMENT AND THE SPECIAL SERVICES UNIT, CASTRIES CONDUCTED AN OPERATION IN THE COMMUNITIES OF FOND CANNIE AND HILL 20, BABONNEAU.

On Saturday 8 April, 2023 about 4:30 a.m.  officers of the Criminal Investigations Department and the Special Services Unit, Castries conducted an operation in the communities of Fond Cannie and Hill 20, Babonneau. During the operation, a search warrant was executed on the premises of Al Joseph of Hill 20, Babonneau. Where a large quantity of Marijuana, Controlled Drugs was recovered. Al Joseph was arrested and detained in Police custody.

 

 Al Joseph of Hill 20, Babonneau was charged for the Possession of Controlled Drugs and pleaded guilty for the offence, he was fined Two thousand, two hundred and sixty-five ($2265.00) dollars to be paid by June, 2023 and in default five (5) months in prison.

 

A second Search Warrant was executed on the premises of Melvin Saltibus alias Rambo at Fond Cannie, Babonneau. Nothing evidential value was recovered and Melvin Saltibus was escorted to the Babonneau Police Station, where he was interviewed and later released. After being released another Search Warrant was executed at his home on the same day, where officers recovered seven (7) rounds of ammunition which consisted of three (3) 9mm and four (4) .380 carliber.

 

Melvin Saltibus alias Rambo of Fond Cannie, Babonneau was charged with two counts of Possession of Ammunition and granted bail in the sum of fourteen thousand ($14,000.00) dollars cash or suitable surety and other bail conditions.
