Prime Minister to present 2025/2026 Budget Address

THE PRIME MINISTER WILL PRESENT THE APPROPRIATIONS BILL ON APRIL 22.

A new session of the Parliament of Saint Lucia will commence on Tuesday, April 22, 2025, with the Opening Ceremony scheduled for 10 a.m., followed by the Throne Speech at 11 a.m., delivered by the Governor General, His Excellency Sir Cyril Errol Melchiades Charles. Later that day, at 5 p.m., Prime Minister and Minister for Finance, Hon. Philip J. Pierre, will present the 2025/2026 Appropriations Bill or the Budget Address.

The proposed national budget totals $2,057,519,900, representing the largest financial allocation in the country’s history. This year’s budget will focus on infrastructure development, healthcare, citizen security, economic stabilization, social development, and job creation.

The Prime Minister is also expected to highlight several key achievements of the past fiscal year, including a record-low unemployment rate of 10.8% in the last year, three years of primary surplus and four consecutive years of economic growth above 3%.

The Appropriations Bill Debate is scheduled to follow on Thursday, April 24 and Friday, April 25, 2025. All proceedings will be broadcast live on the National Television Network (NTN) and the government of Saint Lucia Facebook.
