Prime Minister to attend the 110th meeting of the ECCB Monetary Council

THE MEETING TAKES PLACE IN ST. KITTS AND NEVIS, TODAY.

Prime Minister and Minister for Finance, Hon. Philip J. Pierre, will attend the 110th meeting of the ECCB Monetary Council in St. Kitts and Nevis on February 14.

The Governor of the Eastern Caribbean Central Bank (ECCB), Timothy N. J. Antoine, will present the Report on Monetary, Credit, and Financial Conditions in the Eastern Caribbean Currency Union (ECCU).

The Governor’s report to the Monetary Council will include updates on:

  1. global and regional economic developments
  2. the impact of US policy shifts on the ECCU
  3. financial stability, and
  4. progress on engagements with the Deputy Managing Director of the IMF.

The Council will also deliberate on a presentation titled: Financing the “Big Push” Through Central Bank Reserves: Scenarios, Options and Recommendations. 

During the Prime Minister’s absence, the Deputy Prime Minister, Hon. Dr. Ernest Hilaire, will act as Prime Minister.
