by Export Saint Lucia
EXPORT SAINT LUCIA WILL PROVIDE UPDATES ON THE PROGRESS MADE WITHIN THE INDUSTRY.

Saint Lucia’s sea moss industry has experienced tremendous growth since 2018, and the value of sea moss exports has increased to historical highs. Between 2018 and 2021, sea moss exports grew significantly. The Agency has worked with cooperatives, provided training, and was even recognized internationally for our efforts to develop the industry.

Most recently, Prime Minister Philip J Pierre in his 2022/2023 budget presentation, allocated XCD$500,000 (five hundred thousand dollars) to Export Saint Lucia for the continued development of the sea moss industry.

To this end, Export Saint Lucia invites the media to a press conference to provide updates on progress made thus far. Sea moss, in its raw and value-added forms, continues to contribute positively to the livelihoods of hundreds of Saint Lucians, particularly along the island’s east coast.

Export Saint Lucia remains committed to providing support and facilitating the growth of the sector for local and export markets.

The press conference will take place on Wednesday, Oct. 26 at 10 a.m., at Export Saint Lucia, 2nd Floor, Hewanorra House, Pointe Seraphine.
