UPDATED BANKING INFORMATION NEEDED FOR INACTIVE, BUT ELIGIBLE PUBLIC OFFICERS WHO LEFT THE GOVERNMENT EMPLOY BETWEEN APRIL 2022 AND MARCH 2025.
Further to the conclusion of salary negotiations for the triennium April 2022 to March 2025 between the Government Negotiating Team (GNT) and the Trade Union Federation (TUF) the Accountant General’s Department (AGD) proceeded to make payment of the agreed upon six percent salary increase to officers in Grades 1 – 18 for the triennium, on February 20, 2025.
To be eligible means a person has been appointed by the Public Service Commission, Teaching Service Commission or the Judicial and Legal Services Commission.
Who Has Been Paid – Active and Eligible
- Eligible public officers employed with the Government of Saint Lucia (GOSL) and who were active on the GOSL Payroll as at January 31, 2025 received a six percent salary increase from February 2025 with commensurate retroactive pay spanning the period April 2022 to January 2025.
- Pensioners on the GOSL payroll who retired during the triennium received their retroactive pay corresponding to the period of retirement. Additionally, retiring benefits for eligible pensioners will be recalculated on the basis of the salary increase for the triennium.
- Government pensioners who retired prior to April 2022 are not eligible for the retroactive pay; however, the Cabinet of Ministers has taken the decision to grant a one-time payment of a lump sum of $500 to those persons.
Who Else to be Paid - Inactive and Eligible
Similar to past years’ eligible public officers who left the employ of the GOSL for reasons other than retirement during the triennium are entitled to and will be paid their respective retroactive amounts. Those persons are inactive on the GOSL payroll and in most cases the AGD does not have updated banking information in order to disburse payments using the same process for an active employee.
Based on the above a separate list termed “Inactive Back Pay List’’ is processed for eligible individuals. Affected persons are asked to contact the Accountant General’s Department preferably via the email address payroll@govt.lc to submit banking details.
How to Submit Banking Details
Eligible individuals should email payroll@govt.lc with:
- Their Name and NIC #.
- Bank Name.
- Account Number.
- Account Type (Savings or Chequing).
Note that credit union accounts are also accepted. Upon receipt of individuals banking information, the AGD will proceed to process payments electronically to individuals bank accounts.
