PRINCIPAL SAYS RENOVATIONS HAVE BOOSTED STUDENT MORALE.

The Ministry of Education has invested $10 million to develop school infrastructure around the island.

Beneficiaries of the investment include the Anse-La-Raye Infant, Canaries Infant, Millet Primary, and Roseau Combined schools.

Minister for Tourism, Hon. Dominic Fedee, who is also the Parliamentary Representative for the districts of Anse-La-Raye and Canaries, said the Saint Lucia government is resolved to providing optimal learning environments for students.

“We have been the beneficiaries of tremendous work done by the Ministry of Education in a number of areas. This is government’s commitment to ensure that our kids are in the best possible learning environments. We believe that this helps to improve the education system significantly and it sends a message to students and teachers that the government is very committed to their various objectives.”

Principal of the Roseau Combined School, Ms. Brenda Joseph, said the renovations have boosted student morale.

“When the students saw the newly-painted building for the first time, they were elated,” she said. “I am so happy that this was done in addition to the washrooms. I think that our children now would really appreciate school even more because they realize that they are being cared for, and that the facilities that they need to perform well are there.”

The newly-renovated building at the Roseau Combined School will house Grade Six classes as well as the Special Education class.
