THE TWO-DAY PROGRAM PROMOTED HEALTH AND WELL-BEING.

The Unicomer Group has successfully launched its OECS Wellness Program, a significant initiative aimed at fostering healthier communities across the region. The programme introduced over a two day period was held at the Courts Megastore in Marisule. The success of the event speaks to the strong partnership between Unicomer Group and the Ministry of Health, Wellness and Elderly Affairs.

Shirlan Edward, Family Life Educator in the Ministry of Health, emphasized the importance of such collaborations, noting, “It is crucial that we promote wellness initiatives like this to ensure that the working class has access to our full range of services. We encourage other organizations to reach out to the Ministry to support wellness within their workplaces.”

This groundbreaking initiative, which underscores the Ministry’s commitment to community health and accessibility, provided participants with a range of comprehensive health services. These included blood pressure checks, glucose testing, and cholesterol assessments, all conducted by Health Officials from the Ministry of Health, Wellness and Elderly Affairs.

Bryan Rooplal, Director of Human Capital at Unicomer OECS, highlighted the long term vision of the Wellness Program, stating, “We have launched the wellness program within the OECS as part of our broader plan to ensure the well-being of our staff and customers. Over the past few years, we have been dedicated to promoting healthy living, and this initiative is a continuation of that commitment, with plans to expand our efforts in the future.”

The OECS Wellness Program represents a significant step toward enhancing public health awareness and encouraging proactive health management within the community.

The July initiative was offered at no cost, reflecting the collaborative effort between Unicomer and the Ministry to promote preventive healthcare.
