The invasive lionfish has a voracious apetite and no natural predators in our local waters.

Sightings of the lionfish have been confirmed on the Ciceron reef and the Department of Fisheries is urging members of the public, fishing and diving communities to assist in identifying and destroying this threat to our marine wildlife. Extreme caution should be exercised when encountering or handling lion fish as they contain venomous spines. Should you or someone else become stung by a lionfish follow the guidelines below till professional medical treatment is available. Please report all sightings and encounters with the lionfish using the form below. Members of the public, fishing and diving communities are also encouraged to familiarize themselves with the Saint Lucia Lionfish Response and Action Plan for more detailed information.
