THE COMPREHENSIVE UPGRADE PROJECT IS DESIGNED TO EXPAND THE CLINIC’S SERVICES AND HOURS OF OPERATION.

As part of the government's commitment to delivering accessible, high-quality medical services, the Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Health, Wellness and Elderly Affairs, Jenny Daniel, recently conducted an official visit to evaluate the progress of the ongoing enhancements and rehabilitative works at the Gros-Islet Polyclinic.

The comprehensive upgrade project is designed to expand the clinic’s service capabilities, improve patient care, and create a more efficient and comfortable environment for both staff and the public. One of the key enhancements includes the extension of operational hours to provide round-the-clock medical services.

During her visit, Permanent Secretary Jenny Daniel outlined the improvements aimed at strengthening healthcare delivery at the facility. “We are assessing the scope of work being undertaken to facilitate the extension of this institution’s operating hours. This includes enhancements to the staff lounge and minor infrastructure upgrades to support the transition to 24-hour service. Our focus is on ensuring the comfort and safety of both our clients and healthcare personnel who access services at this facility,” she added.

She also praised the progress made by the project team and contractors. “We are highly satisfied with the level of work being implemented on-site. The initial phases have been successfully completed, and we are confident that the project will continue at the expected pace. We anticipate a timely completion and will provide further updates to the public as we approach the final stages of this critical initiative,” stated Permanent Secretary, Daniel.

The modernization of the Gros-Islet Polyclinic is part of the Ministry’s broader national effort to upgrade healthcare facilities and ensure the provision of high-quality medical services across the island. The Ministry of Health, Wellness, and Elderly Affairs remains committed to strengthening healthcare infrastructure to better serve communities and improve health outcomes.
