THE OUTREACH INITIATIVE SPREADS INSPIRATION THROUGH ROCK PAINTING WHILE RAISING AWARENESS ABOUT THE SERVICES PROVIDED BY THE EAP.
The Employee Assistance Programme (EAP), a work-based intervention designed to enhance the professional well-being of government employees, continues to provide essential support to individuals facing personal and professional challenges that may impact their quality of life and job performance.
Committed to excellence, the EAP delivers individual therapy, debriefing sessions, and other workplace interventions to public officers and government departments. As part of its services, public officers and their immediate family members receive up to six free counselling sessions.
In celebration of its ninth anniversary this month, the EAP Unit, is continuing from where it left off last year with its “Rock for a Cause project”—an outreach initiative that spreads inspiration through rock painting while raising awareness about the services provided by the Unit. This outreach event will take place on Friday, March 21st, from 10 a.m., with a team from the EAP Unit visiting various government departments.
Since its inception, the EAP has provided invaluable support to hundreds of public servants through individual and group interventions, reinforcing its mission to promote workplace well-being and professional resilience.
Mrs. Sacha Jn Pierre-James, EAP Manager stated that, “We save lives literally and metaphorically at the EAP.” Nine years onwards, the EAP continues to impact lives and has been receiving positive feedback from clients. One client who was “saved” through the EAP intervention stated, “I felt like my life was a complete waste, like I had disappointed not only my family but also myself. The pain was unbearable. In that moment, a thought crept into my mind: “Why don’t you end it? At least the pain will be over.” I tried to silence that thought, but the more I drank, the louder it became. It was in the midst of this despair that I somehow found the courage to call the EAP. To my great fortune, I was connected with the Manager. We spoke, and through my tears and hopelessness, she guided me away from the cliff of suicide. She helped me see that there was still a way out, a way to heal.”
Another client stated, “The Counselling sessions were very insightful. They challenged me to utilize strategies to better deal with triggers and difficult situations. My counselor was very professional, thoughtful and helpful. Very thankful for a wonderful experience”!
“I believe that once you are human, you will need help in navigating the uncertainties in life. Even if you may think you are strong, we all can improve our quality of life with some outside support. No challenge is too big or too small to get help for. Try EAP today!”
