Dr. Jarbas Barbosa da Silva Jr., of Brazil, will be sworn-in as Director of the Pan American Health Organization (PAHO), on Tuesday.

Dr. Barbosa was elected in September 2022 by PAHO Member States. His five-year term begins on February 1, 2023.

Dr. Barbosa will be sworn-in at the Hall of the Americas, headquarters of the Organization of American States (OAS)  in Washington, DC., at 11 a.m. on Jan. 31.
