The Father's Day show on June 18 will feature Musiq Soulchild.
Jamaican Reggae sensations Christopher Martin and Etana, as well as American crooner Musiq Soulchild, will be featured on the line up of the island's first ever Roots and Soul Festival under the Soleil brand.
The Roots and Soul Festival is the second in a new series of cultural and artistic events from May to November, called Soleil, the Saint Lucia Summer Festival. The festival will be staged at the iconic Pigeon Island National Landmark from June 17 - 18 and will be an event dedicated to musicians who are setting new trends in reggae, conscious hip-hop, Afropunk and R&B.
Performing will be some of Caribbean's finest in Roots and Soul and related genres. Jamaican Reggae sensation Christopher Martin—whose hits include Cheaters Prayer, I'm a Big Deal, Under the Influence, and a reggae cover of Let Her Go, by British singer, Passenger—is set to take the stage on Saturday, June 17. The festival will also include some of Saint Lucia's finest including Kayo, Rob Zii Taylor and Fourth World.
The June 18 show will bring some spectacular Father's Day performances. Sunday's show will feature Musiq Soulchild bringing his brand of neo soul to the festival with hits like Just Friends, Love, Half Crazy, Better Man, and Chocolate High, a duet with India Arie. Headliner Etana is considered the leading contemporary voice in Reggae music with hits like I am Not Afraid and Blessing. She will close the curtains with her blend of conscious reggae, lovers rock and pop.
Tickets for the Roots and Soul Festival cost $100 EC and can be purchased online at www.soleilsaintlucia.com. Between now and May 31, purchase tickets for the early bird price of EC$75.
