Members of the Saint Lucia Cadet Corps performed exceptionally in the Para Military Competition at the 2014 Caribbean Cadet Camp in Port Antonio, Jamaica.
The Corps’ Public Relations Department announced that Saint Lucia captured second place overall after participating in the adventurous and Para Military Competitions—the main competition being the PJ Patterson Shoot.
Coordinator for the National Volunteer Program, Mr. Cyril J Saltibus, said that he is proud of the organization and its impact on young Saint Lucians. He opined that if each secondary school student spent at least two or three years being trained by the Cadet Corps, that student would develop a more positive outlook on life.
Mr. Saltibus was once a member of the Saint Lucia Cadet Corps. He attained the rank of Captain and served in the capacity of Unit Officer, Company Commandant, Cadet Corps Training Officer and finally as Adjutant.
The National Volunteer Coordinating Office, Office of the Prime Minister, congratulated the members of the Saint Lucia Cadet Corps for making Saint Lucia proud.
Corps members returned home yesterday.
