The Government of Saint Lucia has announced its intention to reduce energy consumption in the public sector by 20% by the year 2020. To assist in this regard, funding has been received from the Italian Government through Go-operation on climate change vulnerability, adaptation and mitigation between the Italian Ministry for the Environment Land and Sea (IMELS) and CARICOM member states. The approved project is the installation of a solar carport with electric vehicle charging stations at the department of Infrastructure ports and energy parking lot in Union Castries.
The Department of Sustainable Development invites sealed bids from eligible bidders for the Design and Construction of a 54kWp solar photovoltaic (PV) carport systems with EV charging stations as part of a strategy to incorporate sustainable energy into the public sector and explore the feasibility of EV charging via solar energy. Bidding will be conducted through the National Competitive Bidding (NCB) procedures according to the Government of Saint Lucia’s procurement rules. Details about all requirements for the hardware and services to be delivered can be obtained from the bidding documents.
Persons interested in bidding should register with the Renewable Energy Division of the Department of Sustainable Development by accessing the registration forms on the Government of Saint Lucia website www.govt.lc and emailing completed forms to est@govt.lc or delivering completed forms to the Renewable Energy Division, First Floor, Caribbean Cinemas. Deadline for submission of the bid registration form is Monday 5th June, 2017.
