TURNING POINT REHABILITATION CENTRE MOVES TO HOSPITAL COMPLEX

On Monday, 9th December, 2013, the Turning Point Drug & Alcohol Rehabilitation Centre officially left its La Toc home of over 25 years to take its place within the New National Health Complex, which currently houses the National Mental Wellness Centre and still the under construction, New National Hospital.

When complete, the Complex will be overseen by a Board of Directors which will govern all three institutions. The Directors will be responsible for the management of all staff and services, while the Ministry of Health retains oversight of its operations. A great benefit of the formation of the Complex is the sharing of services between the three departments, resulting in improvements in the delivery of quality care. Some of these services include laboratory, radiology, laundry and kitchen services.

Turning Point’s move represents a significant stride in the facility’s mandate to enhance its ability to provide for the rehabilitative and clinical needs of all patients. It reflects too, a major component of the reformation of the entire health sector in Saint Lucia.
