THE VIRTUAL GRADUATION CEREMONY WILL BE STREAMED ON SUNDAY, JAN. 31, AT 3 P.M.
The first ever virtual graduation ceremony hosted by the Sir Arthur Lewis Community College to celebrate the Class of 2020 is slated for Sunday January 31st 2021.
The 34th graduation exercise of the premier national tertiary institution will be aired from 3 p.m. on the National Television Network (NTN), Calabash TV and streamed on the YouTube pages of the two networks as well as the College’s page.
Honoring the graduates will be a number of celebrity guests, with messages also coming from the Prime Minister, Leader of the Opposition and the Minister of Education. The theme for this year’s graduation is “Rewarding Resilience: Pivoting through the Adversities of 2020”
Christa St. Ange has been selected by her peers as valedictorian of the Class of 2020. Christa is a graduand of the CAPE programme offered by the College.
For the first time, students who have already moved on to universities abroad as far as Taiwan will be able to participate in the virtual graduation ceremony.
The College’s annual Graduation exercise which was traditionally held on the first Sunday in December was rescheduled due to adjustments which had to be made at the onset of the global pandemic which affected educational institutions worldwide.
The public is invited to view the ceremony on Sunday, January 31st 2021 at 3 p.m.
