The 2017 Lucian Carnival festivities have come to an end with Ricky T walking away with the road march title.

At a press conference held on July 19, the Parade of the Bands Chief Judge, Paula James, announced the winners of the two-day event.

“Band of the Year, in fourth place with 343 points portraying Greatness in the Sands is Fusion Mas; in third place with 345 points for its portrayal of Sunset to Sunrise is Royalites Extreme; in second place with 356 points portraying Escape is Just for Fun, and in first place with 391 points portraying We Mama We Matlow is the Tribe of Twel.”

Other winners this year included Best Jouvert Band Back in Time (Music: The Life of the Party); Calypso Monarch, the Mighty Pep; Ricky T, the Power Soca Monarch; and  the Groovy Soca Monarch, Arthur.
