The IRD’s e-payment, print and drop off, and help desk services are available all week to help customers file before the March 31 deadline.

The Inland Revenue Department (IRD) today launched its Electronic Payment Service which enables taxpayers to make tax payments in the comfort of their homes or offices.

Comptroller of the IRD, Sophia Henry, led by example in making the first payment. She said the development enhances the customer experience.

The Electronic Payment Service is safer, convenient and hassle free. Clients no longer need to bring in cash or cheques, or take long lines in order to make payments. E-payments can now be made for value added tax (VAT), PAYE, corporation tax and personal income tax with both credit and debit cards.

The IRD has also provided additional services to help customers file on time and avoid the late payment fee. Customers can either elect to fill out the electronic tax return online, print out a copy, and drop it off at the IRD; or utilize the IRD’s help desk service at the JQ Mall, Rodney Bay, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. from March 27 to 31. All supporting documents must be attached to the tax return.

The tax deadline is March 31.
