Department of Health educates on coronavirus

THE SESSIONS ALLOW OFFICIALS TO FINE-TUNE THE RESPONSE PLAN FOR COVID-19.

The Department of Health and Wellness in Saint Lucia has been working with the Department of Education in sensitizing students and teachers on the coronavirus.

In that vein, the Department of Health and Wellness has received much needed help from the private sector in the form of a donation of some 206 gallons of hand sanitizer for schools.

Chief Medical Officer in the Department of Health and Wellness Dr. Sharon Belmar – George highlighted the significance of the initiative, whjile owner and Director of the Rodney Bay Medical Centre, Dr. Tanya Destang-Beaubrun, expressed gratitude to the business entities that donated to the cause.

The Department of Health and Wellness also hosted sensitization sessions with primary and secondary school principals.

Medical Officer of Health Dr. Glensford Joseph says this session is extremely important as it provided principals with the opportunity to review and update their response plan for COVID-19.
