The fair will allow participants to engage in Mobile Application Development, Computer Graphics, and Digital Photography.
The Ministry of the Public Service, Information and Broadcasting through the Caribbean Regional Communication Infrastructure Program (CARCIP), will be hosting an Information and Communications Technology (ICT) fair from August 10 - 15 at the Public Service Training Institute (formerly Spinners) in Union.
The purpose of the fair is to showcase current ICT trends and efforts by the government to develop an ICT-enabled economy and information society.
Activities include presentations from industry leaders like Microsoft, Google, Brightspath, Digicel, and Flow. Other activities include a digital marketing symposium and Innovation Night.
The largest component of the fair, however, is a Hackathon scheduled for Wednesday, August 12-15, and open to persons between the ages of 17 - 35. The Hackathon will provide opportunities to engage in Mobile Application Development, Computer Graphics, and Digital Photography. The Hackathon will culminate with participants from OECS countries engaging in a regional competition called Business Think Tank to be hosted by the ECCB.
Interested persons are encouraged to visit the CARCIP website at www.carcip.govt.lc for more information about the fair.
